An extra blank label printing after every job is usually caused by an incorrect label size in your print settings, a dirty optical sensor, or a loose label spool.
1. Check Label Settings (Most Common)A mismatch between the label size in your computer's software and the actual physical label loaded in your printer causes the printer to feed an extra label to re-calibrate.
Step 1: Ensure the label dimensions selected in your layout (e.g., Address, Shipping, Name Badge) perfectly match the physical label roll loaded into the machine.
Step 2: Check your PC/Mac Printing Preferences or Printer Settings to make sure the correct paper size is selected there as well.
2. Align the Label Roll
The printer’s label sensor sits on the left side of the feed path. If the labels are loaded improperly, the printer cannot detect the margins, causing extra feeds.
Step 1: Push the label spool guide tight against the right edge of the label roll so the roll cannot wiggle.
Step 2: Ensure the left edge of the label is pushed firmly flush against the left inner wall of the printer.
3. Clean the SensorDust or adhesive buildup on the optical sensor can prevent it from "seeing" the gaps between your labels.
Step 1: Remove the label roll.
Step 2: Locate the small black sensor inside the label feed path (it’s typically a plastic slit located near the left wall).
Step 3: Use a DYMO Cleaning Card or a cotton swab lightly dampened with isopropyl alcohol to gently wipe the sensor.
4. Adjust printer permissions
The printer should have rights for everyone. To give rights to the printer for everyone in windows. If this is not allowed, then make sure all printer settings within windows match the settings in PassagePoint.
