How to Install and Configure the CR1500



Download and Install the CR1500 Driver



  1. Please do not plug in the CR1500.

  2. Please download the CR1500 Virtual Com driver and Cortex tools from: https://downloads.stopware.com/updates/codereader/cr1500.zip

  3. Install the driver

  4. Plug in the CR1500


Scan the ‘Rest to Factory Defaults’

Scan “Enable Cell Phone Reading Enhancement”



Scan “Enable Motion Detection"




Scan “Enable CDC VCOM Mode"




Update the COM Port

  • Navigate to Windows Start> Control Panel> Device Manager

  •  Expand Ports (COMS & LPT) from the list> Right click the 'USB serial Device' and select properties

  •  Select Port Settings> Click Advanced> select the COM Port and update it to 50

  • Reboot the PC


Add the Cr1500

  • Log in to PassagePoin as admin

  • Navigate to home> station preferences> hit add at the bottom > select barcode scanner> generic barcode scanner> enter a name> give it a name> select the com port> select baud rate 115200 > click finish
